Thursday Tip - Website Security
Website Security
A professional website should have a secured website, which is normally denoted with a padlock next to the website address in the address bar. You can click on the padlock to show the certificate and when it expires.
If you can't see the padlock, check that the website address starts with https and not http, as the S stands for secure and uses an SSL (Secured Sockets Layer) certificate. All your data and information are encrypted from the website to the server.
Some hosting platforms charge extra for this service and you may be unaware of this. At White Studio the hosting provider we use comes with a secured certificate as standard, and all of the search engines favour a secured site then not so for SEO it's a good thing too.
